About Cambusbarron:

Cambusbarron Distillery 18th Century representing our Lowland Casks is one of the earliest distilleries on record, with its roots in the mid-18th century, founded before 1741 also known as Glenmurray Distillery and St. Thomas Well Distillery. The operation was located in its namesake village, a mile southwest of Stirling.

The precise spot is uncertain, however, the nearby Murrayhall lime works and a residential cul-de-sac called St Thomass Well are both nearby to the Raploch Burn. It is likely that the distillery was in the general vicinity of this watercourse, which is today mostly culverted on its way north-east to the Forth.

Tasting Notes

Our seventh release of The Cambusbarron has matured in :Barrique -1st Fill Oloroso Sherry

Nose; Summer hayfield and gorse flowers.
Taste; Cashew nuts, delicate raisens and sutanas.
Finish; Initial heat gives way to lingering, sweet oat cake.

A very enjoyable single malt Lowland whisky.
