Originally created in 1876 for Tsar Alexander II, Cristal remains Roederers prestige cuve, produced only in outstanding years. The 2013 is 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay from biodynamically farmed Grand Cru vineyards, aged nearly eight years on lees before disgorgement at 7 g/L dosage. Aromas of orchard fruit, citrus and brioche lead to a structured palate with fine, chalk-driven length. Will definitely reward those patient enough to keep for 10 years.
