Chteau Montrose is a second growth in the 1855 Bordeaux classification located in the Saint-Estphe commune. The vineyard is spread over 95 hectares and is bordering Cos dEstournel and Pauillac. It is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Merlot (32%), Cabernet Franc (6%) and Petit Verdot (2%).

Grapes are hand-picked and carefully selected. The vinification takes place in stainless-steel vats over 20 days with several pump-overs per day to extract more flavors. The blend happens before malolactic fermentation. The wine is then move to oak barrels to age. Chteau Montrose is matured for 16 to 18 months in oak, which of 60% is new.

Since 2006, the domain has been investing in environmental aspects such as recycling rain and water waste, using solar power and low-usage buildings for example.
