ABOUT THIS WINE

Capellana is crafted exclusively from Viura grapes harvested from the Capellana vineyard, planted in 1945 and situated at the highest altitude of the Ygay Estate in Rioja Alta. The wine undergoes fermentation in a 9,400-liter concrete vat for 35 days, followed by aging for 15 months in new French oak barrels.

Marqus de Murrieta, established in 1852, is one of the pioneering wineries in Rioja, Spain. The estate spans 300 hectares of vineyards in the southern part of Rioja Alta, allowing for meticulous control over wine quality. The winery underwent significant modernization, culminating in 2021 with the inauguration of new winemaking facilities equipped with cutting-edge technology, while preserving its historical roots and identity.
