Sensory Description:

Bright pale straw with a hint of green, the nose opens with fresh citrus zest, grapefruit and lemon peel, layered with white florals and a soft herbaceous note of fresh tarragon or cut grass. On the palate, the wine glides across the tongue with crisp acidity and a fine texture, delivering orchard-fruit flavours of green apple and white peach, complemented by subtle saline minerality and a hint of clay-loam tension. The finish is clean, refreshing, slightly chalky, and leaves the palate poised for another sip.

Winemaker’s Background:

Bodega Volcanes de Chile, operating under the historic Via Undurraga umbrella (founded in 1885) and managed by Patricio Lucero in the export and varietal selection arm, is anchored in the volcanic-soil vineyards of Chiles key valleys. Their guiding philosophy is to express “the purity of the grape varietals without excessive use of oak,” with vineyard sites chosen for deep volcanic sub-soil that enhances drainage, retains subtle humidity and mitigates heat stress. Lucero, a winemaker with international experience (including time in Sonoma and Spain) drives the brands modern, fresh style.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve chilled at approximately 4550 F (710 C). This wine partners beautifully with fresh seafood (think citrus-dressed ceviche or grilled sea bass), goat cheese salads, light vegetarian fare or herb-infused dishes (such as asparagus with lemon vinaigrette). Ideal for springtime sipping, patio gatherings or as a bright, welcoming aperitif.
